Name: Amberle Elessedil
Canon: The Shannara Chronicles TV adaptation
Age: Unknown (looks to be 20, considered a young adult)
Race: Land Elf
History:
- Born of Aine Elessedil and an unknown mother, who died in childbirth
- Princess of the Elves' Kingdom
- Witnessed her father's death by the hands of a Gnome assassin when she was a child
- Ran the Gauntlet as a young adult; it's a yearly race where Elves race each other to become one of the seven Chosen, guardians of the Ellcrys
- Placed 7th, and becomes the first female Elf to ever become Chosen
- The Ellcrys, a magnificent semi-sentient tree protecting the land, shows her visions of the future - of a world run down by demons
- Amberle runs away from Arborlon, her home, in fear
- Returns, accompanied by two magic users: Allanon, a powerful druid, and Wil, a half-elf discovering his own powers
- Receives a seed from the Ellcrys, that she is tasked to bring to Safehold to perform a ritual that will allow the Ellcrys to be reborn, and lock away the demons once more
Personality:
- Headstrong; she defied orders when she was a child to play with her friend, and later one defied common traditions and unwritten rules to run in the Gauntlet
- Hero complex; she wants to save the world, even though she doesn't even know where to start. When she runs away from Arborlon, spurning her duty as Chosen, it is to try and save her then-boyfriend Lorin
- Brave; she never shies away from trouble, and faces it as best she can. She's a born leader and takes on her quest without complaining, even though it is a dangerous path to take
- Impulsive; makes plans without really thinking them through or consulting with anyone about them, which gets her into trouble more than once.
- Sensitive;
- Haughty; she is a Princess and was raised as such, and she has very strong opinions about humankind and more specifically, Rovers - humans that live in clans, usually thieving to survive. She mistrusts them immensely and mocks people who believed any of their lies
- Loyal; to people she trusts, to her family, to her people
- Family-oriented; she was extremely close to her father before his death. She is now very close to her uncle Ander, and her grandfather, Eventine. They are extremely important to her
- Self-confidence issues; when she first sets out to Safehold, with Wil, Eretria, and a small squad of Elvin soldiers, she lets the Elvin head guard take the reigns on their mission. She then gets a hold of the group again and starts leading them, but not without Wil and Eretria's help, and a healthy dose of bravado
